• Kimberley Chatfield founded Chatfield Training with over a decade of expertise in workplace health, safety, and wellbeing. Her approach is rooted in the belief that the right training can transform workplaces and positively impact the lives of those within them.

Graduating from Cardiff Metropolitan University with a PGCE in Post-Compulsory Education & Training in 2014, Kimberley drew from a Health & Social Care background and found a true passion for developing and delivering high-quality programs of learning. Dedicated to authenticity, she focuses exclusively on training topics where her real-world experience can enhance and enrich the learning journey, ensuring every course is both practical and engaging.

Kimberley combines expertise with empathy to ensure every session is both impactful and accessible, tailored to meet the diverse needs of her clients.

  • By combining modern, engaging learning programs and practical knowledge with real-world insights, we provide training that’s not just informative but truly transformative. Whether at your venue or one of our open courses, our goal is to ensure every learner leaves empowered, confident, and prepared to make a meaningful difference.

We offer a comprehensive suite of health and safety courses, including First Aid, Fire Safety, Manual Handling, Mental Health First Aid, and more. Each course can be tailored to align seamlessly with your workplace processes. No more forcing square pegs into round holes—tell us how you operate, and we’ll ensure your values and procedures are echoed throughout our training.

From addressing unique challenges to reinforcing your core messages, we create courses that resonate with your teams and drive lasting impact.

  • Training is about more than compliance—it’s about fostering a culture where people feel safe, supported, and ready to make a difference. At Chatfield Training, we understand the ripple effect that effective workplace training can have: reducing risks, enhancing wellbeing, and building stronger, more cohesive teams.

We measure the impact of our courses through pre- and post-course evaluations, and these processes also enable us to unlock our empathetic, engaging approach - you get to confidentially let us know what works for you and what doesn’t, before the course even begins!

Our focus is always on creating meaningful change. Through ongoing feedback, we ensure that each training session is not only relevant but also responsive to the evolving needs of your business. When workplaces thrive, so do the people within them—and that’s a difference that truly matters.

Founder & Lead Trainer, Chatfield Training

“ I founded Chatfield Training in 2025 because learning and development sometimes felt like a tick-box exercise - and people deserve so much more than that.

After more than 10 years of delivering health, safety and wellbeing programmes — and spending plenty of time as a learner myself — I noticed a gap. Training sessions often met the minimum requirements, but they didn’t always create an environment where people felt safe, confident, or truly able to learn.

I know what it’s like to sit in a classroom feeling anxious and worried about saying the wrong thing, or being made to feel small for not knowing something that “should” be obvious. It’s experiences like these that shaped the way I teach today.

At Chatfield Training, everything is designed around emotional safety and confidence-building. I believe people learn best when they feel respected, encouraged, and supported — and that’s why our values are Empathy, Authenticity, and Impact.

When training connects on a human level, knowledge goes beyond the classroom. I’ve been privileged to hear from learners who’ve used their skills not only at work, but also in their personal lives — and being part of that impact is the most rewarding part of what I do.

You can find out just some of the courses we do below, but do you want to know what makes our courses different?

Read our FAQs and learn more!

  • Empathy is part of everything we do, so rest assured you’re in safe hands. Learners can doodle, fidget, pace, stretch, take notes, make space, interrupt, write questions on a post-it, or ask for any other form of support that might help. Please ask in advance if there’s something specific - Kim will always do everything in her power to support learners!

  • Our trainers only deliver courses which they have real-life, hands-on experience in.

Kim has a background of more than 15 years in Health & Social Care, and she’s also a Community First Responder in Pontypridd. Lived experience of family illness has also brought valuable contributions, so Kim has first-hand experience in all the topics she delivers.

  • Impact is one of our three core values, so we measure it! We do this through pre- and post-course feedback, so we can observe the difference our training makes.

Environmental impacts are also a key focus for us. We limit the use of plastics as far as possible, and we avoid using paper where we can - even our register is virtual! We try not to give out paper resources, but we’ll send you virtual course materials along with your certificate after the course.

We’re also starting to see some wonderful feedback on our Google reviews - why not go and read about the difference we’ve made on our courses to date!

  • The short answer: yes!

Whilst we offer several independent courses, many of the courses we offer are available as accredited qualifications through the Awarding Organisation, Qualifications Network UK. Look for the courses with ‘QNUK’ in the title!

Please be reassured that we’re big on quality, so our independent courses are created to meet our very high standards, too!

  • No, there’s plenty more! We can deliver many other courses upon request, in areas such as Health & Social Care (Dementia Awareness, People Handling etc), Risk Assessment, Management and more.

Rest assured - we will only deliver training in topics where your trainer has real-life, hands-on experience!

  • So does our trainer, Kim! We know how it feels when your mind goes blank because the trainer asks you a question in front of EVERYBODY, so we’re really not about that.

Be aware that in order for us to be sure you’re meeting the learning outcomes, we do need you to participate and contribute, especially for assessed courses - but we’ve got clever ways of doing that without singling you out in a crowd!

  • We can work with the absolute basics, and we’ve taught in all sorts of environments, so rest assured that we’ll work around you as long as it’s safe and viable.

But our ‘ideal’ training setup would be a semi-circle layout, no background noise, with tables for snacks and scribbles, and space behind the seats for people to stand up and stretch. Oh - we always bring biscuits, by the way!

It’s also helpful if you can provide WiFi, an extension lead, and a table for us to put a projector and laptop on - but it isn’t a problem if you can’t! We ask you to complete a ‘Site Information Form’ ahead of the course to let us know your setup.
