ChatfieldTraining.com is still under construction - please bear with us whilst we build the site! Jamie Chatfield is a Personal Trainer, specialising in strength and conditioning training. A strong advocate of the methodologies used with CrossFit programmes, Jamie focuses on measuring performance in training and improving fitness through workouts consisting of constantly varied, high intensity, functional movements. The methods Jamie uses can incorporate elements used in strength and conditioning programmes for many police academies, firemen, military operations units, champion martial artists and hundreds of other elite and professional athletes worldwide. But, don’t let that scare you off, programmes/workouts Jamie designs are universally adaptable and can be applied to any committed individual regardless of age, gender or current fitness levels and abilities. More often than not, people hugely underestimate what they are capable of, mentally telling themselves they can’t when really, they physically can. Once you let your mind go, you’ll be amazed what your body can do! Workouts can consist of various aspects to create total, functional, body movements and ultimately, elite fitness. Jamie utilises many unconventional training techniques that can include, Olympic lifts, plyometrics, kettlebells , suspension training as well as many others. Unless an individual specifically requires reducing/gaining weight for health reasons or for sporting competition, Jamies training is engineered towards measuring performance of workouts rather than weight gain/loss. This is because weight and body measurements with a large majority of individuals can actually be discouraging and often irresponsible gauges of fitness capacity. If you’re feeling fitter, happier and looking better from training, don’t allow yourself to be put off that the scales aren’t moving or you’ve gained a few pounds. It’s going to be a gain in muscle and a loss of fat, muscle weighs a lot more than fat does! Hence measuring elements such as frequency of your workouts, kgs moved/lifted, round/circuit times, rest periods and intensity. Basically, you’re strength and fitness progressions. When they improve you will undoubtedly be feeling and looking better. Looking good is a by-product of improved strength and conditioning and when your body is in good shape, your mind follows! |
